Puff Pastry Twists

This puff pastry twist recipe is clever and quick to prepare. These twists can be offered for breakfast, afternoon coffee, or even as a snack for children. They are attractive with a generous dusting of powdered sugar on top and crispy like all sweet recipes made with puff pastry. Furthermore, it is easy to make and a good solution when you don’t have much time and need to improvise a dessert for after a meal. They don’t require much effort, and the ‘Puff Pastry Twists’ can be prepared even by those with little experience who are attempting to make a dessert for the first time.

Ingredients

  • 8.1 oz Puff Pastry (Rolled into a rectangle)
  • 1 egg yolk (beaten)
  • to taste Vanilla powdered sugar

Tools

  • Parchment paper
  • Baking dish
  • Rolling pin

Preparation

  • Prepare the puff pastry on the table, leaving the parchment paper underneath. Brush with a beaten egg yolk.

  • Sprinkle with granulated sugar on top and then cover with another sheet of paper. Run the rolling pin over it to adhere.

  • Cut into rectangles 1 1/2 to 2 inches wide and 6 inches long. Shape each pastry rectangle into a twist as shown in the photo.

  • Make cuts on the edges with scissors (see the photo). Arrange the twists on the baking dish lined with parchment paper gently and spaced apart.

  • Bake in the oven at 392°F for about fifteen minutes. Watching through the oven glass, you’ll be able to check the cooking as they appear puffed and slightly golden.

  • Let them cool, and finally, after arranging the puff pastry twists on the tray, use a sieve to sprinkle a lot of powdered sugar on top.
