Bell-Shaped Easter Sweet Cake

The Bell-Shaped Easter Sweet Cake is a perfect dessert to serve at the end of a meal instead of the usual colomba or to be served at breakfast.
A quick, moist and soft cake that you can also bring to the Easter Monday picnic.
This cake has chocolate chips, but you can replace them with raisins or a simple custard cream.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.4 cups potato starch
  • 1 jar
  • 4.4 oz yogurt
  • 3 eggs
  • 0.8 cups sugar
  • 0.5 oz baking powder
  • 2.8 oz chocolate chips (dark)
  • 1 pinch salt
  • to taste vanilla essence
  • 0.25 cups vegetable oil

Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 356°F. Grease the bell-shaped mold with vegetable oil and flour it, or prepare a paper baking mold.
    In a large bowl, place the eggs, pinch of salt, and sugar.
    Beat with an electric mixer until you get a frothy mixture.
    Add the plain yogurt (or other flavors as desired), oil, and vanilla essence.

    Finally, add the sifted flour, starch with the baking powder, and mix with a spatula until smooth and lump-free.
    Combine with the chocolate chips and pour into the center of the bell-shaped cake mold.
    Sprinkle the surface with granulated sugar.


  • Bake for 35 minutes and remove from oven when a toothpick comes out dry.
