Then when it’s hot, don’t even mention it… This recipe for ricotta and chocolate cake was born just like that, when you crave something sweet you do everything in one bowl and cook it in an air fryer filling the kitchen with a wonderful aroma.
A recipe that tastes like home, a snack with company, or a calm breakfast. I even prepare it when I need something to sweeten my days, the combination chocolate + ricotta is one of my favorite pairings and it’s always a sure thing! You eat it nice and fresh as if it were a no-bake cold dessert.

Ingredients
Just a few simple and genuine ingredients we have in the pantry
- 2 cups ricotta (well drained from its whey)
- 4.2 oz sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla (seeds)
- 1 egg (whole)
- 0.5 cups yogurt (whole)
- 0.7 cups cornstarch (or potato starch)
- 2.8 oz chocolate chips
Steps
A bowl, a fork, and the air fryer are all you need!
1. First, drain the ricotta in a colander and once drained, pour it into a large bowl.
2. Add the sugar and mix with a fork.
3. Add a teaspoon of vanilla, the whole egg, and the yogurt.
4. Continue mixing well with the fork, then add the cornstarch (or potato starch).
5. Mix everything with a hand whisk to eliminate lumps.6. Finally, add the chocolate chips and give it a final stir.
7. Pour the entire mixture into a 8-9 inches mold suitable for the air fryer (preferably silicone or aluminum).
8. Bake at 340°F for about 35-40 minutes in the air fryer. Always do the toothpick test!
9. Once our ricotta and chocolate cake is ready, let it cool completely before cutting. It’s even better the next day!
Perfect to share with whoever you are with, to bring to the table at tea time. Get the forks ready because a second serving is guaranteed! 😋
Storage: Keep in the fridge for 3-4 days, well covered with plastic wrap.
Notes:
You can use brown sugar instead of white.
The chocolate chips can be replaced with leftover chocolate pieces.
Gluten-free if you use certified starch.
Perfect also with sheep ricotta for a more intense flavor.
Serving: Serve with a dusting of powdered sugar or a spoonful of Greek yogurt and fresh fruits (if not allergic 😉).
