    Season with salt and pepper to taste and mix well.
    Cook over low heat for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cream thickens and blends with the sausage.
    3. Cook the pasta:
    Meanwhile, cook the pasta in plenty of salted water, following the cooking times indicated on the package.
    Drain al dente and set aside a cup of cooking water, in case the sauce is too dry.
    4. Combine and serve:
    Add the drained pasta directly into the pan with the sausage and cream sauce.
    Mix well over medium heat for 1-2 minutes, adding a bit of the pasta cooking water if necessary to achieve a creamy consistency.
