Today it’s Easter, could I resist preparing the strawberry tiramisu in an Easter egg.
A very simple dessert, this time without eggs in the cream.
Last year I had already presented the classic coffee tiramisu also served in an egg and since it was liked, this time I went for the strawberry version.
You can also try the light strawberry tiramisu (veg) version, or the classic vegan coffee tiramisu — always vegan. The only difference is the container, which in this case will be an Easter egg.
Here are a few more ideas for cute and alternative Easter desserts:
- Difficulty: Easy
- Cost: Budget-friendly
- Preparation time: 20 Minutes
- Portions: 8 people
- Cooking methods: No-cook
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: Easter
Ingredients
The amount of filling depends on the size of the egg you will use.
- 1 chocolate egg
- 3 cups strawberries
- 7 oz Pavesini cookies
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup mascarpone
- 5 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 oz 70% dark chocolate
Preparation
Wash the strawberries well, remove the stems and cut them into cubes. Transfer them to a bowl, sprinkle with a little sugar and lemon juice and let macerate in the refrigerator for a few hours.
With a sharp knife briefly warmed over the flame, carefully cut the Easter egg into two perfect halves.
Whip the cream with an electric mixer, then add the mascarpone and sugar until you obtain a smooth cream.Transfer the cream into a piping bag fitted with a large tip.
Pour the juices released by the strawberries into a deep plate, thin them with a little water and dip the cookies.
Build layers of soaked cookies in the two halves of the egg, alternating them with cream and chopped strawberries.
Finish with dollops of cream and more strawberries. As suggested above, melt a little dark chocolate and pour it onto the plate. Place the two strawberry tiramisu halves on top and refrigerate for a few hours before serving.
Daniela’s tips
If you have leftover cream and cookies, you can also make small tiramisus in cute jars.
Try it also with slices of colomba cake instead of the cookies — equally delicious.
How to cut the Easter egg perfectly?
Just carefully cut the egg with a knife that has been briefly warmed over the flame, following the welding seam.
How to keep the halves of the strawberry tiramisu in the egg steady on the plate?
To keep the two halves of the Easter egg steady on the plate when turning it into the strawberry tiramisu, take a spoonful of melted chocolate, pour it where you want to secure the egg, place the half on top and transfer it to the refrigerator briefly until it sets well.
