Ingredients for 2 people:
- 10.5 oz potato gnocchi
- 3/8 cup heavy cream
- 6 shrimp
- 1/2 teaspoon curry
- to taste salt
- to taste pepper (freshly ground)
- 1/4 cup dry white wine
Tools:
- 1 Pot 4 liters
- 1 Pan 9.5 inches
- 1 Knife
- 1 Strainer
Preparation
To best enjoy the gnocchi, I recommend preparing fresh gnocchi following the recipe you can find here, it will give the dish a unique taste and an extra touch.
Start by putting a pot of salted water on the heat until it starts to boil.
While the water is boiling, place a non-stick pan on the heat, sauté the shrimp with a drizzle of olive oil for 1 minute.
Deglaze the shrimp with the white wine and let it evaporate. When the wine has evaporated (1-2 minutes), the shrimp will be cooked
Now, all you have to do is add the cream and a teaspoon of curry to the shrimp. Mix and blend for about 1 minute to mix the ingredients evenly.
Let it reduce slightly and the curry cream is ready, you just need to cook the gnocchi in the boiling water.
When the gnocchi come to the surface, they are ready, just drain them and sauté them in a pan with the curry cream to mix the flavors.
Your gnocchi with curry cream and shrimp are ready!
Plating Tips:
This is a simple dish, I recommend keeping some shrimp for decoration to add to the plate without them being covered by the curry sauce.
Wine Pairing for Curry Gnocchi:
To accompany this delicious recipe, I recommend a fresh and aromatic white wine, such as a Vermentino or a Sauvignon Blanc. Their freshness and fruity notes will perfectly complement the intense flavors of the curry cream and shrimp, creating a unique taste balance.
