Ingredients for 2 people

  • 3.4 oz coffee
  • 8 cubes ice
  • 1.4 oz sugar

Tools

  • 1 Cobbler Shaker
  • 1 Moka

Steps

To make a true iced shaken coffee, use liquid cane sugar and a cobbler-type shaker. If you don’t have these tools, don’t worry, you can still achieve a delicious iced shaken coffee using a glass jar and granulated sugar.

  • First, make good coffee with the moka pot. For a good shaken coffee, the coffee must be boiling, coffee pods might not give the same result.

  • Place 8 ice cubes in a shaker. If you don’t have the classic bar shaker, you can use a glass jar with a lid. Just make sure the closure is secure, or you’ll spray shaken coffee everywhere!

  • Add 4 teaspoons of sugar to the ice (or 10 ml of liquid cane sugar if you have it).

It’s important to follow the steps; the coffee must be poured as the last ingredient.

  • Pour 3.4 oz of boiling coffee over the ice, close the shaker (or the glass jar), and shake from top to bottom to form the typical cream.

Continue shaking the jar until the ice is not completely melted yet. How do you know? When you no longer hear the ice clinking and the shaker’s sides are cold, you’re done!

Your iced shaken coffee is ready!
