  • If you have time, I recommend following my recipe for homemade pan-fried hamburgers. In just a few minutes, you’ll have a delicious hamburger perfect for this recipe or many others.

    Pan-fried Hamburger
  • First, place a non-stick pan on the stove over high heat. It’s important that the pan is very hot to seal the meat and retain the juices inside.

A tender hamburger is one that has retained its juices inside instead of losing them in the pan.

Cook the hamburger for 4-5 minutes per side.

    Pan-fried Hamburger
  • When the hamburger is cooked on both sides, lower the heat, let it rest for a couple of minutes, and add the tomato sauce.

Do not add the sauce to a hot pan, or it will splatter everywhere upon contact with the hot pan.

    tomato sauce
  • Now that the hamburger is covered with tomato sauce, cook over medium heat with the lid on for 8-10 minutes.

Your stewed hamburger alla pizzaiola is ready!

Plating tips:

Now that your stewed hamburger is ready, all you have to do is serve it. To make it more delicious, you can complete the dish with sliced cheese. The trick to making the cheese melt is to place it on the hot hamburger, turn off the heat, and cover the pan with a lid. The moisture inside will melt the cheese in no time!
