  • Difficulty: Very easy

  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 12 tablespoons sugar (about 180 g / 1 cup)
  • 12 tablespoons sunflower seed oil (about 120 ml / 0.5 cup)
  • 12 tablespoons milk (about 120 ml / 0.5 cup)
  • 12 tablespoons all-purpose flour (about 220/240 g / 1.75-2 cups)
  • 1 packet vanillin
  • 1 packet baking powder for cakes (16 g / 1 tablespoon)
  • as needed chocolate chips

Tools

  • Mixer

Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a greased and floured baking pan.

In a large bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until light and frothy.

Add the sunflower seed oil and mix well.

Pour in the milk and mix again until all liquid ingredients are incorporated.

Add the sifted flour, baking powder, and vanilla extract or vanillin. Mix until you get a smooth, lump-free batter.

Add the chocolate chips (dust them with flour first to prevent them from sinking!) and gently stir to evenly distribute in the batter.

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and level the surface with a spatula.

Bake the cake in the preheated oven and let it cook for about 40 minutes, or until the surface is golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out dry.

Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Once cooled, slice the cake and serve it as a delicious dessert, slightly crunchy on the edges but soft and melting inside.

    Enjoy!

Tips

Slightly crunchy on the edges and with a softness inside that melts your heart, don’t worry if the top darkens a bit, it doesn’t compromise the result!

Not all ovens are the same! That’s why you should do the toothpick test in the center of the cake before removing it from the oven! If it comes out dry, you can remove it, otherwise, continue cooking for a few more minutes!
