Ingredients

  • 7/8 cup water
  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • Start by mixing the flour with water, oil, and salt in a bowl.

    Use a spoon to blend the ingredients until you get a homogeneous mixture.
    Transfer the mixture to a floured work surface and begin kneading by hand. Continue kneading until you have a smooth and compact ball.


    Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rest for 10 minutes. This step will help relax the dough, making it easier to roll out.
    After the resting time, take the dough and divide it into about 10 balls of 2.3 oz each.
    Roll each ball on a floured surface using a rolling pin until reaching a thin shape about 1/8 to 1/10 inch thick.

    If you want to use the pasta machine, I recommend passing each strip 4 times at setting 1 and then 4 times at setting 3. This way, you will achieve uniform thickness and perfect crispiness! Place the bread strips on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Before baking, brush each strip with some olive oil and add the Maldon salt flakes.

    If you like, you can also add spices of your choice, such as oregano, rosemary, or paprika, for an extra touch of flavor.
    Bake in a preheated fan oven at 428°F for about 10 minutes, or until the strips are golden brown and crispy.
    Once baked, let the bread strips cool on a rack for a few minutes before serving.
