Ingredients

Here’s what you need for a scary Halloween tree that’s tasty and super easy to prepare!

  • 2 sheets puff pastry (rectangular)
  • as needed hazelnut spread
  • as needed milk
  • as needed brown sugar

Steps

  • Prepare the base:
Unroll a sheet of puff pastry on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
    Fill:
Spread the hazelnut cream evenly, leaving a small border all around.
    Cover:
Place the second sheet of puff pastry on top and lightly seal the edges.
    Draw and cut the tree:
Draw the outline of a tree with long, thin branches on a piece of parchment paper.
Place it on top of the puff pastry and, using a sharp knife, cut following the shape.
    Remove the excess parts.
    Shape the branches:
Cut the branches and gently twist them to create the “twisted branches” effect.
    Decorate and bake:
Brush with milk, add a sprinkle of brown sugar
and bake in a preheated static oven at 356°F for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.

  • Serve:
Let it cool slightly and bring to the table your scary Halloween tree with puff pastry and hazelnut cream.
Crunchy, delicious, and… spookily good! 🎃

Storage

Store the Halloween tree under a cake dome or in an airtight container for 2-3 days at room temperature.
You can briefly reheat it in the oven or air fryer to regain its crispiness.

Tips

For an extra touch, add chocolate chips or chopped hazelnuts between the two layers.
If you want to make the dessert even more scenic, you can dust with powdered sugar after baking.
It’s also perfect to prepare with kids for a creative and fun Halloween snack.
