The cheese gratinated green beans is a simple, economical, light, and delicious dish. It can be served as a side dish or a vegetarian main course. For the recipe, I used fresh green beans (you can also use frozen ones following the same procedure) which are boiled and then gratinated in the oven with cheese, in this case, Emmentaler and breadcrumbs.

Steps
To prepare the cheese gratinated green beans…
In a pot, heat the water to cook the green beans. When it boils, add the green beans and cook them for 10/15 minutes. Check the cooking by piercing them with a fork.
While the water heats up, take the green beans, trim them with the knife, leave them whole or cut them in half depending on your preference, and wash them.
After the green beans are cooked, drain them and put them into the bowl. Season with extra virgin olive oil, salt, pepper, breadcrumbs, and grated Grana Padano.
Mix and pour a first layer of green beans into the baking dish, add the Emmentaler cheese cut into cubes or slices, and cover with the remaining green beans.
Sprinkle with more breadcrumbs and grated Grana Padano, then bake the green beans at 356°F and cook them in fan mode for 10 minutes until the cheese is melted. Serve hot.
