The chocolate pine cones are delicious and scenic treats created for the Christmas season, as they whimsically and realistically resemble pine cones. Made with crushed cookies, cocoa, sugar, butter, and chocolate shell-shaped cereals. They are easy to make, although a bit of patience is needed to insert the cereals, but once made they will be beautiful. Serve as a dessert after meals or as a snack.
The recipe is by Roberta G. and is taken from the book “Mom’s Cake – Our Recipes”, Chestnut cream ricotta tart with chocolate chips, pg. 27.

Steps
To prepare the chocolate pine cones…
In the food processor or blender with blades, place the plain biscuits and operate it to finely crush them.
Transfer the crushed biscuits into a bowl, add the unsweetened cocoa powder, granulated sugar, milk, and melted butter from a small pot, and mix everything with a spoon until you get a homogeneous and malleable dough.
With moistened hands, take a little dough at a time, form cones (about 1.76 oz each), and starting from the base, insert the shell-shaped chocolate cereals creating the appearance of a pine cone.
Once the dough is finished, place the pine cones in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, then sprinkle some powdered sugar on top.
