The panettone glasses are super delicious and easy to prepare. A perfect recipe for Christmas or the following holiday season, also ideal for recycling panettone at the end of it. Two layers of panettone soaked in liqueur, in this case Grand Marnier, alternated with a double layer of cream made with cream and fresh spreadable cheese, enriched with pieces of candied orange and flavored with cinnamon. For the recipe, I preferred to create single portions in convenient glasses, but if you prefer, you can make it in a baking tray.

Ingredients

  • 9.5 oz panettone (with raisins, without candied fruit)
  • 1 cup fresh whipping cream (cold)
  • 7 oz fresh spreadable cheese
  • 2.5 oz candied orange (optional)
  • 1.7 oz Grand Marnier
  • 0.9 oz powdered sugar
  • 0.2 oz cornstarch
  • to taste ground cinnamon (optional)
  • to taste orange zest
  • to taste unsweetened cocoa powder

Tools

  • Food scale
  • 2 Bowls
  • Small bowl
  • 5 Glasses
  • Grater
  • Mixer
  • Brush
  • Spoon
  • Sugar duster
  • Spatula

Steps

To prepare the panettone glasses…

  • In a bowl, pour the fresh whipping cream, add the powdered sugar, and with the electric mixer, start whipping for several minutes until it begins to thicken (be careful not to overwhip). Towards the end, add the cornstarch which will give the cream consistency.

  • In another bowl, put the fresh spreadable cheese, candied orange, and ground cinnamon (optional) and mix it all with the electric mixer.

  • Then combine the whipped cream with the previously worked fresh cheese, mixing it from bottom to top, in one direction with a spoon or spatula.

  • In a small bowl, pour the Grand Marnier liqueur and break the panettone into pieces with your hands.

  • Then take a glass, put a scant spoon of cream, place some pieces of panettone on top, soak it with the liqueur using the brush, then spread the cream on top and form another layer. Continue like this with the other glasses until you finish the ingredients.

  • Finally, sprinkle some unsweetened cocoa powder on top and decorate with grated orange zest. Serve immediately or slightly cold from the refrigerator.

Storage

They keep in the refrigerator for 3/4 days covered with plastic wrap.

Variations

You can replace the liqueur with coffee or milk for a non-alcoholic version. Instead of classic panettone, you can use one without raisins and candied fruit, one with chocolate chips, or pandoro. Additionally, you can replace the fresh spreadable cheese with mascarpone.
