With the start of the autumn season, I always prepare pomegranate juice. Without buying the ready-made juices available in stores, here’s how to prepare it directly at home, especially for those who are lucky enough to have a pomegranate tree in the garden or buy them at the market. Juicy and slightly tangy in flavor, this fruit with its precious properties is also suitable for consumption as seeds to enrich various dishes.

- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar (optional)
Tools
- Food Scale
- Knife
- Cutting Board
- Bowl
- Spoon
- Juicer
- Glass
Preparation
To prepare pomegranate juice…
Take the pomegranates, use the knife to cut around the top where the stem is, and remove it.
Then cut the peel into wedges, remove it and gather the seeds into a bowl (be careful as it stains fabrics, you can perform this operation in a bowl filled with water if desired).
Gradually, use the spoon to pour the pomegranate seeds into the juicer’s or centrifugal’s opening. Switch it on for a few seconds until the juice is completely extracted.
Finally, pour the obtained juice into the glass and sweeten to taste.
Notes
It keeps in the fridge for 1 to 2 days in a well-closed glass or plastic bottle. If you don’t have a juicer or centrifugal, you can use a blender and then strain the juice with a fine mesh strainer.
