Cheesy Fennel in Air Fryer

Cheesy fennel in the air fryer, a tasty and easy side dish to prepare with very few ingredients. Quickly gratin in the air fryer, or you can bake it in the oven. At the end of the recipe, you’ll find both cooking methods.

These fennel gratin without béchamel are very flavorful. If you want a stringy effect, you can substitute Edam with pizza mozzarella.

  • 2 fennel (large)
  • 4 tablespoons Grana Padano grated
  • 3.5 oz Edam

How to Prepare Cheesy Fennel in Air Fryer

  • First, boil a pot of salted water, then handle the fennel. Remove the ends, cut them in half, and divide each half into 3 or 4 pieces, depending on the size of the fennel. Wash them under running water, cook them in the pot for 5 minutes, then drain.

    Line a baking tray with parchment paper and spread a third of the grated cheese on the bottom, then add the fennel wedges.

    Add some chopped parsley (I used dried), a sprinkle of pepper, and finish with the rest of the grated cheese.

    Cook in the air fryer at 356°F (180°C) for 13 minutes or in the oven at 374°F (190°C) for about 20 minutes. When a light crust forms, the fennel will be ready. Serve immediately.
