Green Beans with Butter is a classic side dish of Italian cuisine, simple and quick to prepare yet also flavorful.
They are ideal to accompany main courses of both fish and meat, and for this dish, you can use leftover green beans from the day before. For instance, I sometimes make them boiled in a salad and don’t eat them all, so I recycle them by cooking them in a different way.
For this recipe, you can use either fresh green beans (since they are still in season) or frozen ones that are available all year round.
Although green beans are legumes, they are considered vegetables because, unlike beans, broad beans, and peas, you eat the pod and not just the seeds.

How to Prepare Green Beans with Butter
Trim the ends off the green beans, wash them, and boil them in salted water for 8 minutes.
Meanwhile, melt the butter in a pan and add the garlic clove. Once browned, remove it and add the green beans drained from their cooking water to the butter.
Let them flavor for 5 minutes by tossing or mixing them with a spoon, adjust salt, add a bit of cracked pepper, and serve the green beans with butter while still warm.
