Pasta Salad with Tuna, Cherry Tomatoes, and Mozzarella

Pasta Salad with Tuna, Cherry Tomatoes, and Mozzarella is a perfect cold first course for summer, to take to the beach or work. A really simple recipe that you can prepare in advance with fresh ingredients. The only thing to cook is the pasta.

Given that the heat continues and I cook as little as possible to keep my family from starving, here’s what I prepared today: this colorful, tasty cold pasta ideal for hot days or a quick and flavorful lunch. It’s a simple recipe to prepare, ideal if you have little time but want to put something tasty and nutritious on the table.

This is the first photo I took with the new camera, since the other one broke, and for a while, I had to take (horrible) photos with my phone. I hope to learn how to use it well without driving my husband crazy, who is an expert photographer and has to explain everything to me very patiently…

But back to the recipe: the combination of pasta, tuna, ripe cherry tomatoes, and mozzarella creates a balance of flavors that everyone always loves. You can personalize it by adding a few basil leaves or a grating of lemon zest to make it even more irresistible. Use the short pasta shape you have at home, and enjoy your meal.

Steps for Pasta Salad with Tuna, Cherry Tomatoes, and Mozzarella

  • First, put a large pot of salted water on the stove and bring it to a boil. I used fusilli, but you can choose the type of short pasta you prefer. When it boils, pour it in and cook for the minutes indicated on the package.

Meanwhile, prepare the dressing: cut the cherry tomatoes into quarters, the olives into rings, and the mozzarella into cubes. When the pasta is cool, combine the prepared ingredients, add the drained tuna, adjust the salt, and mix everything together.

Place the Pasta Salad with Tuna, Cherry Tomatoes, and Mozzarella in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving.

FAQ (Questions and Answers)

  • What can I substitute for the tuna?

Instead of tuna, you can use salmon or mackerel in oil.
