Polenta and Gorgonzola Trees are one of the many appetizers perfect for the holidays, economical and easy to make. It’s well known that polenta and gorgonzola create a wonderful combination, so here is this little recipe for Christmas lunch, New Year’s Eve dinner, or to serve anytime you want.
At our house, polenta is often enjoyed in many ways, even for breakfast when there’s leftovers, sliced with a bit of sugar on top. Therefore, I couldn’t resist making this recipe for my Christmas appetizers!
You can reheat the polenta trees either in the oven or in an air fryer; I used the latter to save time.

- 5 oz instant polenta
- water
- salt
- 3.5 oz gorgonzola

How to Prepare Polenta and Gorgonzola Trees
Prepare the polenta in salted water following the package instructions, then pour it into a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Let it cool and turn it over onto a cutting board, then once cooled, use some cookie cutters to cut out stars.Arrange the larger stars on a tray, place another star slightly rotated on top of the first, and continue with smaller stars on top.
Secure the trees with a toothpick and bake them for 10 minutes at 350°F (180°C) or in the air fryer (as I did) for 4 minutes at 340°F (170°C). Arrange them on a serving plate and add pieces of gorgonzola, which will melt quickly with the heat.
Remove the toothpicks before serving and, if you want, replace them with decorated skewers.

What cheese can I use instead of gorgonzola?
You can replace gorgonzola with taleggio, which pairs wonderfully with polenta.
Can I use ready-made polenta?
Of course, you just need to slice the polenta loaf and cut out the stars.
