Herb Appetizer

Herb appetizer, when you really don’t have time but still want to prepare something to accompany a glass of wine with friends, while the pasta is cooking. This is the moment to prepare it: a simple and good appetizer. Very easy, with a piece of puff pastry and some herb leaves that you might have in the garden or your small vegetable garden, a food brush, and extra virgin olive oil. You can prepare a very tasty and, of course, super fragrant appetizer.

  • 1 bunch aromatic herbs
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 hot chili pepper

Steps

  • Using a fluted pastry cutter, I cut out the discs from the puff pastry and, with the brush, coated them with extra virgin olive oil.

  • Using a fork, I pricked all the puff pastry discs.

  • My bunch of aromatic herbs includes rosemary, fresh oregano, and marjoram. Just for taste and pleasure, I added small pieces of chili pepper.

  • After washing and drying all the herbs, I pressed them lightly with my fingers onto the pastry.

  • On some, I also added a few pieces of hot chili pepper, always appreciated.

  • A light sprinkle of salt on the herb appetizer and straight into the oven.

  • Oven at 375°F for 15 minutes.

My name is Pina, and my passion is food and cooking in general. On the blog, I focus on regional dishes like those from my birthplace, Sicily. I also feature dishes from Lazio, the region that has hosted me for over 40 years, but in general, I cover all Italian regions. Traveling and exploring is my second passion, so I couldn't leave out dishes from around the "World" on my blog. My blog is divided into simple and essential sections like appetizers, first courses, main courses, side dishes, bread and leavened products, jams and preserves, wines and wineries, and of course, travels. Desserts are included, and finally, there is a dedicated corner for gluten-free options. Easy recipes, explained step by step and always updated.
