Lactose-Free Condensed Milk

Lactose-free condensed milk is really easy to make, and since I discovered how to do it, I no longer buy it. I make it for tiramisu when I don’t use raw eggs and can’t pasteurize them, so I make this clever cream with fresh cream, mascarpone, and obviously condensed milk.

Ingredients to Prepare Condensed Milk

  • 1 cup ml lactose-free milk
  • 2 tbsps g butter
  • 8.8 oz gluten-free powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp gluten-free cornstarch

Tools

  • Saucepan
  • Manual Whisk
  • Food Scale

Steps

  • With this lactose-free condensed milk recipe for making desserts and creams, I practically never buy it anymore. I prepare it and store it in the fridge for a month or if I make a lot, I freeze it, and it will keep for at least three months.

  • Pour the milk into the saucepan and add the butter,

  • melt the butter and add the sugar with a teaspoon of cornstarch, I always add it because I like my condensed milk very thick, forgive the play on words.

  • Cook over low heat for 10 minutes, stirring often.

  • If you want to store it in the fridge for a month, sterilize the jar and once the condensed milk is in, turn it upside down. Or use vacuum sealing. Personally, I always prepare the amount I need at the time of use without storing it.

  • It’s so easy and quick to prepare that there’s no need to make a lot to store it.

  • My lactose-free condensed milk is also gluten-free and made with lactose-free milk, so it’s for everyone.

  • Here it is ready, the lactose-free condensed milk

in cucina con pina

My name is Pina, and my passion is food and cooking in general. On the blog, I focus on regional dishes like those from my birthplace, Sicily. I also feature dishes from Lazio, the region that has hosted me for over 40 years, but in general, I cover all Italian regions. Traveling and exploring is my second passion, so I couldn't leave out dishes from around the "World" on my blog. My blog is divided into simple and essential sections like appetizers, first courses, main courses, side dishes, bread and leavened products, jams and preserves, wines and wineries, and of course, travels. Desserts are included, and finally, there is a dedicated corner for gluten-free options. Easy recipes, explained step by step and always updated.
