Oreo Flavor Ice Cream

Oreo flavor ice cream: a small gift for children and adults alike, a true delight to prepare ice cream at home. If you need to buy an ice cream maker (I swear, the moment mine broke and until I fixed it, I really thought it was a bummer!). I make ice cream in all seasons, I love serving it right after lunch and it is a habit I do not give up. My ice cream maker is self-refrigerating, I find this system the most convenient because you just plug it into the power outlet and the ice cream maker takes care of everything, from churning the ice cream after adding all the ingredients to refrigeration. It couldn’t be easier: preparing the ice cream, delicious to enjoy in all seasons without waiting for the summer heat.

Ingredients to make Oreo Flavor Ice Cream

  • 6.7 oz Oreo® cookies
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 0.4 cup powdered sugar

Tools to Make the Ice Cream

  • Ice Cream Maker

Steps to Prepare Oreo Flavor Ice Cream

  • I always prepare Oreo flavor ice cream at the moment, I like the softness of freshly made ice cream. If I don’t have glucose at home, I use powdered sugar (which dissolves immediately in the milk without heating and then cooling it again), but I prefer glucose because the ice cream always remains soft.

  • Dissolve the powdered sugar in the milk and then add it to the cream, crumble all the cookies and set three aside whole for later.

  • Put the ingredients in the ice cream maker bowl, turn on the machine and set the time to 30 minutes and start. Of course, for those who, like me, have an ice cream maker that churns and at the same time refrigerates, with thirty minutes the ice cream is ready.

  • When serving the ice cream, crumble the cookies you set aside on top.

FAQ

  • How do I make the ice cream softer?

To prevent the formation of ice crystals, it is advisable to use glucose or corn syrup instead of sugar in the ingredients, thus the ice cream will be softer.

  • How to avoid the formation of ice crystals in homemade ice cream?

Adding ingredients that lack moisture, like milk powder, which is also widely used in ice cream shops, and using sugars help to minimize the formation of ice crystals and make the ice cream creamier.

  • How can I replace glucose in ice cream preparation?

The sugar that dissolves best in water is definitely fructose; it can be safely dissolved in ice cream mixes and there’s no need to heat the milk in question.

My name is Pina, and my passion is food and cooking in general. On the blog, I focus on regional dishes like those from my birthplace, Sicily. I also feature dishes from Lazio, the region that has hosted me for over 40 years, but in general, I cover all Italian regions. Traveling and exploring is my second passion, so I couldn't leave out dishes from around the "World" on my blog. My blog is divided into simple and essential sections like appetizers, first courses, main courses, side dishes, bread and leavened products, jams and preserves, wines and wineries, and of course, travels. Desserts are included, and finally, there is a dedicated corner for gluten-free options. Easy recipes, explained step by step and always updated.
