Spaghetti with king prawns and the first course is ready, simple but with a strong, intense sea flavor. This could be a first course, especially when meat is usually not eaten on Christmas Eve, making it a valid and tasty alternative to the timeless spaghetti with clams or tuna. If we buy the prawns already cleaned, it will definitely save us time and won’t negatively affect the success of the spaghetti with king prawns dish. Nowadays, there are many choices available, and stores and retail chains strive to meet buyers’ needs as much as possible.

Ingredients
- 12 king prawns
- 5.5 oz spaghetti
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley
- Half lemon (zested)
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 clove garlic
- Half cup dry white wine
Tools
- Pan
- Pot
- Colander
Steps
Remove the shells from the king prawns along with the heads and intestines, wash and dry them. Put the garlic in a pan with the oil and let it brown.
Add the cleaned prawns, leaving two whole (one for each plate as a final decoration), let them cook for a few seconds and pour in the white wine. Add the tomato paste with the parsley, salt, and grated lemon zest, let it cook for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti for a few minutes less than the recommended time, drain it while still al dente and toss it for two minutes in the pan with the prawns.
And here they are ready to be served with a handful of fresh chopped parsley and more lemon zest, the spaghetti with king prawns.
