Caramel sauce recipe

It often happens that we would like to have a stock of caramel to decorate a dessert, further flavor an ice cream or prepare a pudding…

We use the purchased topping, delicious, but with a lower cost and without the addition of preservatives we can obtain a caramel sauce to always have at hand or better in the fridge

The recipe is very simple, the only precaution, since we are talking about caramel, is to be careful not to get burned… in a few minutes we get a beautiful amber sauce to use as we like.

We will store it in a glass bottle in the refrigerator or at room temperature

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Low cost
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Portions: 10
  • Cooking methods: Boiling
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All seasons

Ingredients

With a spoonful of sugar….

  • 2.5 cups sugar
  • 2 cups water

Tools

A small pot for the water, one for the caramel…

Steps

In two steps, a very pleasant sauce

  • In a steel saucepan mix the sugar with 2/3 cup of water; pour the rest of the water (1 1/3 cup) into another saucepan and heat to 149 degrees Fahrenheit

  • Cook the sugar and water until caramelized

  • At this point, being very careful of any splashes, pour in the hot water to stop the cooking; pour it in a little at a time and stir, maybe with the help of someone for the first time, but you will realize that you can do it perfectly fine on your own.

  • Let it cool and pour your sauce into a bottle with a cap

  • Store in a pantry at room temperature and use it as you like.

It keeps at room temperature, in a glass bottle. Gift idea for friends who love sweets and cooking.
