Fricieu with Apples…From Carnival to All Year Round.

Fricieu recipe with apples. From Carnival to all year round.

Fricieu with apples, or apple fritters; a spectacular delight! Hard to resist especially while frying, hot and fragrant with apples and lemon. Resisting is impossible!

When I think of culinary traditions, I always remember the time I met Teresa, a lady with whom I shared many chats and cherished recipes. One of these was the fricieu, a Piedmontese delicacy that won me over from the first bite. The preparation is simple but rich in flavors: flour, yeast, eggs, milk, and a touch of butter to make everything lighter. But the secret was in the addition of diced apples and lemon zest, which gave these fritters a unique fragrance. Teresa, with her lemon tree in the barn, told me how they protected the fruits during the cold winter. And so, suddenly, I find myself still preparing these delights today, carrying on the tradition and the memory of those special moments with her.

At least once a year you have to make fricieu with apples, even without😜😂The diet is always lurking, luckily I move a lot, so every now and then I can indulge.

The kitchen has an incredible role in our homes, and I often turn to simple, old-fashioned recipes to nourish myself. These traditional preparations take center stage in daily food, bringing joy, fragrance, and flavor.
