Almond and Nutella Castagnole

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 3 1/2 tbsp butter
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch vanillin
  • 1 pinch salt
  • lemon zest
  • as needed Nutella®

Steps

  • Pour the flours into a bowl or mixer, add the baking powder, vanillin, grated lemon zest and mix, add the softened butter in pieces, the egg and the salt.

  • Knead well then form a rather large log and divide it into pieces of about 50 g (1.7 oz), flatten them and fill the center with a bit of Nutella.

  • Close and roll, it doesn’t matter if they open at some points because the Nutella doesn’t come out during cooking.

  • Fry as usual, I used the fryer but a deep pan works well too.

  • Dry on kitchen paper then dust with powdered sugar.
