Of course, I had to use the egg white shortcrust I made a few days ago and I decided to make a delicious apple and walnut tart enriched with a quick mascarpone cream.
The recipe for the apple and walnut tart is very simple, of course, the shortcrust can be made with the classic egg method, but I wanted to test its consistency, and I must say it is perfect.
The dessert is enjoyable to eat and perfect if you’re looking for something delicious to make for tomorrow’s breakfast.

Ingredients
- 2 cups shortcrust pastry (with egg whites)
- Half Apple
- 2/3 cup Mascarpone
- 1 egg
- 5 Walnut halves
- 2 tablespoons Sugar
Preparation
Prepare the shortcrust pastry HERE the dose is for a 20-22 cm dessert while the filling is for a 20 cm tart.
If you decide to use all the shortcrust, increase the filling amounts, except the egg, one is enough even for a 22 cm tart.
Divide the dough into two parts, one larger for the base and the other smaller for the topping strips.
Roll it out in the tart pan and prick it.
In a bowl, mix mascarpone with sugar and egg, blend well with a spoon.
Chop the walnut halves and mix them with the cream.
Pour the cream onto the shortcrust base.
Peel the apple and slice it, then place the slices on the cream.
Roll out the remaining shortcrust and cut the topping strips, cover the tart, and bake in a preheated oven at 356°F convection.
Bake for 30 minutes, until the shortcrust is golden.
