CASATIELL E ZUCCHER ancient Easter sweets

Ingredients

  • 6 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tbsp egg white

Steps

  • Separate the yolks from the egg whites, whip the egg whites, as soon as they start to swell, add the cream of tartar and set aside.

  • Whip the yolks with the sugar then combine the two mixtures alternating with the flour.

  • The mixture should be firm; if it isn’t, you can’t make the cookies, but you can use the mixture by pouring it into a baking dish and baking it as a sort of biscuit cake.

  • Pour the mixture into a piping bag and make round cookies by going over them a couple of times.

  • Bake in a preheated oven at 338°F for about 12 minutes, they should turn golden.

  • Remove from the oven and let cool.

  • Whip the egg whites with the powdered sugar and a couple of drops of lemon.

  • Decorate the cookies with sugar, add colorful sprinkles, and let them set.
