COFFEE and CUSTARD TRIFLE with Pavesini, a delicious dessert, refreshing and pleasant spoon dessert, quick and easy single-serving recipe.
The Coffee and Custard Trifle is an ideal spoon dessert to sweeten the end of a meal. This dessert, of English origin, is reinterpreted with an Italian twist thanks to the use of espresso coffee and custard, two iconic elements of our culinary tradition.
The structure of the Coffee and Custard Trifle is characterized by alternating layers of biscuits, usually ladyfingers, soaked in coffee, soft custard and fluffy whipped cream. The ladyfingers, soaked in coffee, provide a strong and aromatic note, perfectly contrasting with the velvety sweetness of the custard. The whipped cream with coffee adds an extra touch of flavor to the dessert.

FAQ (Questions and Answers) COFFEE and CUSTARD TRIFLE with Pavesini
What types of coffee can I use for the Coffee Trifle with Custard?
You can use espresso for a more intense and authentic flavor, but coffee made with a moka pot or instant coffee can also work.
Can I prepare the Trifle in advance?
Yes, it can be prepared in advance. In fact, letting it rest in the refrigerator for a few hours (or even overnight) allows the flavors to blend better. Just cover it with plastic wrap to prevent it from drying out.
How can I avoid the biscuits becoming too soggy?
Dunk them quickly in the coffee, just enough to wet them superficially.
