DRIED APPLE CHIPS, oven or dehydrator snack recipe, light, easy to prepare, ideal for dieting, simple and tasty.
The dried apple chips are delicious, mine are made with a dehydrator but you can also use the home oven, they are a great light snack to enjoy at any time of the day.
With few calories, they are also great for dieting, the dried apple chips can be prepared and stored in a vacuum to enjoy during the summer if you can resist.
Since my husband gifted me the dehydrator, I can’t help but make apple chips and more, my daughter loves them, the only downside is that I have to make a lot.
The dehydrator is very easy to use, my Cosori is definitely great, 6 shelves perfect for placing sliced fruit and it cleans with a little warm water.
For fruit or vegetables, you don’t even need detergent, which I try to use as little as possible, just water and a sponge and in a few minutes the grids are clean.
It’s also great for drying meat, making fruit rolls, but I haven’t tried it yet, I hope to soon.

“SPECIAL: Guide to the best food dehydrators of 2021”
Preparation
Wash the apples and place them in a container.
Heat some water, I used the electric kettle, and pour the hot water over the apples.
Leave for a minute at most, turning them, then wash them again under cold running water.
This step is to remove the wax they are coated with.
Slice them into thin slices, 1/8 inch, the thinner they are, the shorter the drying time.
Arrange the apple slices on the shelves of the dehydrator, mine is a Cosori HERE, spacing them apart.
Do not overlap them, otherwise it will take more time to dry, turn on the machine, set to 131°F and a time of 8 hours.
Check after 6 hours, if they’re still soft, leave for another 2 hours, if a slice is still soft, extend for an hour.
If you don’t have a dehydrator, proceed with the home oven preheated to 140°F for about an hour, turning them over.
To prevent them from browning too much, spray them with lemon juice but don’t overdo it, otherwise, they soften.
