Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cups semolina flour
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cups sugar
- 1 packet vanillin
- 1/2 tsp orange juice
- 2 oz chocolate
- 1 tsp fresh yeast
- 1/2 cup milk
- 8 1/2 tbsps butter
- 1 egg white
- 3/4 cups powdered sugar
- colored sugar sprinkles
Steps
Dissolve the yeast in the milk and pour it into a bowl, add the flours, vanillin, and mix, then add the sugar, egg, orange juice, and butter pieces. Finally, add the chocolate pieces and knead well.
Form a ball and let it rest for an hour, then take the dough, shape it into a rectangle, fold the short side to the center and cover with the other short side.
Form a donut and place it in a greased or paper-lined mold, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rest until it doubles in size, about 4-5 hours.
After the resting time, bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 20-25 minutes, check with a toothpick before removing.
Whip the egg white until stiff, then add sugar and a couple of drops of lemon juice, and continue whipping.
When the donut is ready, cover it with the meringue and colored sugar sprinkles, let it dry before serving.
