Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons brandy
- 1 orange
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 3.5 oz butter
- 1 cup milk
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cube fresh brewer's yeast (half a cube is also fine)
Steps
Pour the flour into a bowl, add the sugar, grated orange zest, crumbled yeast, orange juice, eggs, and a bit of milk, mixing to dissolve the yeast.
Add the brandy, cubed butter, and the rest of the milk a little at a time while continuing to work the mix.
Form a ball and let it rest in a bowl covered with plastic wrap for a couple of hours.
After rising, divide into 10-12 pieces, make small balls, then flatten and poke a hole in the center to shape them into doughnuts.
Place them on a sheet of baking paper dusted with flour or greased and let rest for 20 minutes.
Heat the oil in a pan and cook the doughnuts, turning them for about 2 minutes.
Drain on kitchen paper to absorb the oil and roll in granulated sugar.
