FAQ HOMEMADE MILK COOKIES – Grandma’s Sweet Cookies

  • How long do the homemade milk cookies last?

In an airtight container they stay soft for 3-4 days.

  • Can I replace the butter?

Certainly! You can replace it with oil for a lighter version.

  • Can they be made without lemon?

Of course, you can flavor them with vanilla or orange instead.

  • How to keep the cookies soft and not hard?

The secret is not to overbake them: they should remain pale and slightly soft as soon as they’re out of the oven. Also, avoid adding too much flour to the dough, otherwise they become dry.

  • Why do milk cookies harden after baking?

This happens when they are baked too long or at too high a temperature. Also, an overworked dough or one with too little fat can make the cookies harder instead of soft.
