The licorice liqueur recipe is very simple; melt the licorice on the stove and the sugar separately, then mix everything.
This licorice liqueur is truly delicious, an alcoholic drink perfect as a digestif after lunch, fragrant and delightful.
I am not particularly fond of liqueurs, but I must say this one is delightful, I find it perfect as a gift whether it’s Christmas or Easter, it will be great.
You can buy licorice either at the supermarket or in a pharmacy or herbalist’s shop. Follow me in the kitchen today there’s licorice liqueur!

Ingredients
- 2.8 oz licorice (pieces)
- 500 ml pure alcohol (95°)
- 1.5 cups Sugar
- 2 cups Water
Preparation
In a saucepan, place the licorice pieces with the sugar and water, and cook, stirring occasionally until everything is melted.
Once everything is melted, strain the liquids through a fine-mesh sieve and let cool.
Add the alcohol, mix well, then pour the liqueur into glass bottles and seal them tightly, store in the fridge.
It keeps for about 3 months and can be consumed immediately; obviously, it doesn’t freeze in the freezer, so it can be used right away and poured into small glasses.
