I had mozzarella and tomato in the fridge, flour is never missing at home, and that’s how these mozzarella and tomato bread sheets were born, one of those smart recipes that save your evening.

These quick bread sheets are perfect when you’re looking for an easy and quick dinner, something tasty yet simple. No yeast, no waiting, just a thin base, melting mozzarella, and tomato. A kind of crossover between quick pizza and thin flatbread, ready in just 10 minutes and cooked in a pan!

Ingredients

Steps

  • Pour the flour into a bowl, add the oil and water, and knead quickly.

  • Move to the countertop and work to get a smooth and homogeneous dough, then divide it into 6 or 4 pieces, as you prefer, and roll them out on the surface.

  • They need to be thin, oil a pan, heat the oil, and cook the sheets on both sides until they slightly golden.

  • Top with a spoonful of tomato sauce, a thin layer, pieces of mozzarella or provolone, oil, and cover with the lid for a few minutes.

  • If you like, add a sprinkle of oregano and salt, or basil depending on the season.
