Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 8 1/2 oz butter (or 1/2 cup of corn oil)
- 2 apples
- to taste apricot jam
Preparation
Beat the egg whites until stiff and set aside.
Beat the egg yolks with the sugar until fluffy, then add the flour and if preferred, 1/2 sachet of baking powder, which I did not use, add the butter or oil.
Mix everything, then gently fold in the egg whites, being careful not to deflate them too much.
Grease and flour a 9-inch baking pan.
Peel and cut the apples into small pieces or slices and add them to the mixture.
Pour everything into the cake pan and add the jam with a teaspoon.
Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 35 minutes, always do the toothpick test before removing from the oven.
