PUFF PASTRY FLAKES with RADICCHIO and GORGONZOLA, a delicious appetizer to make in a few minutes, perfect for Christmas lunch or a dinner with friends. Crispy on the outside and creamy inside, these savory puff pastry bites are truly irresistible and always make a great impression on the table.
I love making appetizers with puff pastry, they are my salvation when I’m short on time and want something tasty and eye-catching. These puff pastry flakes with radicchio and gorgonzola I improvised one evening: I had some radicchio in the fridge and a piece of leftover gorgonzola… in a few minutes a fragrant and tasty appetizer was born, perfect even for holiday buffets.
The contrast between the crispness of the golden puff pastry and the soft, stringy filling is simply delightful. The radicchio adds a slightly bitter note that perfectly matches the creaminess and strong taste of gorgonzola. If you wish, you can also add chopped walnuts or a drizzle of honey to make them even more special and suitable for a Christmas menu.
I just made them yesterday for a dinner with friends, and I swear they didn’t even make it to the second round of appetizers! Freshly baked they have an aroma that immediately captivates, but they are also delicious when warm.
They are a great idea to serve during the holidays, as a Christmas appetizer or for a tasty aperitif, but also for a brunch or a quick dinner: with ready-made puff pastry and a few ingredients, success is guaranteed.
