QUICK PIZZA with BURRATA and pesto ready in 10 minutes
  • Difficulty: Very easy
  • Cost: Very inexpensive
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Portions: 1 Person
  • Cooking methods: Stovetop
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All seasons

Ingredients

  • 1 2/3 cups durum wheat flour (or the one you usually use)
  • 3.4 fl oz water
  • 1 tsp instant baking powder for savory preparations
  • Half tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp burrata
  • 2 tbsp Genovese pesto
  • 3.5 oz fiordilatte (provola or mozzarella)

Steps

Changing the flour will change the dough texture; it will be firmer. Using durum wheat flour instead allows you to obtain a soft dough.

  • Put the flour in a bowl, add the baking powder, the salt and the water little by little, knead until you obtain a smooth dough that is not sticky but soft.

  • Oil a pan and place the dough, spreading it with your fingers; cook both sides until golden, about ten minutes, turning it and keeping the lid closed.

  • Then top with the burrata, the pesto and the fiordilatte torn into pieces, cover with the lid and cook a few minutes to let the cheese melt.

Useful tips for a perfect quick pizza:

– Cook the pizza leaving it crispy; you can use the oven if you prefer.
– Add the burrata only at the end of cooking to keep it creamy.
– Distribute the pesto with teaspoons to avoid overpowering the pizza’s flavor.
– If you want an even richer version you can add fresh cherry tomatoes or arugula.
– Serve it as soon as it’s cooked to fully enjoy the creaminess of the burrata.

FAQ QUICK PIZZA with BURRATA and pesto ready in 10 minutes

  • How to make a quick pizza at home?

By mixing simple ingredients in a bowl or with a mixer: flour, salt, instant baking powder and water.

  • Can I prepare the quick pizza with burrata and pesto in advance?

Better not: this pizza is perfect when freshly made because the burrata remains creamy and the base crispy.

  • What can I substitute for burrata?

You can use mozzarella, stracciatella or scamorza for a different but still tasty version.

  • Should pesto be added before or after cooking?

You can add it either before or after cooking, but putting it at the end preserves the basil aroma better.

  • What can I add to enrich it?

You can add speck, salami or smoked salmon or yellow cherry tomatoes.

  • Can I use fresh yeast (brewer’s yeast)?

Absolutely yes; of course everything changes: resting times, dough consistency and the pizza itself.
