These salmon and cheese canapés are truly delicious; they can be prepared in 5 minutes, made in advance, and are both beautiful and tasty to bring to the holiday table.

For the salmon canapés recipe, you’ll need sandwich bread or white bread, spreadable cheese, dried berries, and of course, smoked salmon, decorated with fennel greens or chives.

Ideal for both meat and fish menus, canapés are always welcome. Salmon is a classic, but if you don’t like it, you can substitute it with bacon, speck, or cooked ham.

FAQ (Questions and Answers) Salmon and Cheese Canapés

  • Can I prepare the salmon canapés in advance?

Certainly! They are perfect even when prepared the night before.

  • How can I replace the berries?

You can replace them with raisins for a sweet and savory contrast, or with avocado or other fresh fruits like kiwi or raspberries.

  • Can I use white bread instead of sandwich bread?

Of course! However, I recommend sandwich bread because it has no edges to remove, and you can get 6 canapés from each slice, unlike white bread, from which you can get one or at most two canapés.
