Do you like the salmon sandwich star? It’s a very simple and beautiful idea to bring to the table on Christmas day, Christmas Eve, or during the Christmas period, prepared in a short time and obviously also delicious.

The recipe for the salmon sandwich star is perfect if you’re looking for a simple, quick, and impressive appetizer, filled with salmon, lettuce, and mayonnaise, nothing easier.

Of course, you can fill the sandwich star as you prefer, perfect with ham, or you can add avocado slices or Greek feta, speck, mortadella.

No cooking needed and it can be prepared in advance, needless to say, my family loved it, they adore salmon, less the mayonnaise but if desired it can be replaced with stracchino or ricotta.

6 slices sandwich bread
5.3 oz smoked salmon
1 cup lettuce
0.42 cup mayonnaise (approximately)

Preparation

Obviously, you need a star-shaped mold, a cookie cutter about 8-9 inches or any mold, the pandoro mold is perfect, or you can draw it by hand.
Mine is about 9 inches, a plastic template.

Place 2 slices of sandwich bread on the surface and cut with the shape.
If the slices are a bit narrower, you can add the missing pieces later.
Fill with a layer of mayonnaise, a layer of salmon, and a layer of lettuce.
Close with two more slices and repeat with another layer, finally cover with mayonnaise, decorate with salmon and mint leaves.
