  • Preparation time: 20 Minutes
  • Portions: 7-8
  • Cooking methods: Oven
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All Seasons

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 2 oz butter
  • Half packet baking powder
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • Half apple
  • 2 tablespoons apricot jam
  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 2/3 oz raisins
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 biscuits

Steps

  • Place the raisins in a small bowl with rum or water, let them soak, then rinse and dry with a kitchen cloth. Set aside.

  • Pour the flour into a bowl, add the baking powder, sugar, a pinch of salt, the egg, and the softened butter. Work the ingredients quickly, make a ball and set aside.

  • Cut the apple into small pieces, chop the walnuts and raisins, put everything in a bowl, add the jam, mix, then add the milk and the sugar (I omitted) mix well and let it rest a bit.

  • Take the shortcrust and roll it out on a floured surface, form a rectangle about 4 inches high, and cut out the triangles, or roll it out like a pizza and cut it in half, then again in half, and draw the diagonals.

  • Fill the croissants with the filling and roll them starting from the base, turn them over and fold the tips inward, sprinkle with granulated sugar and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  • Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 15 minutes or in an air fryer at 350°F for 6 minutes, turn them over, and bake for another 3-4 minutes.
