Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 tsp fresh yeast
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsps butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • lemon zest (or vanilla)

Steps

  • Dissolve the yeast in the milk.

  • Put the flour in a bowl, add the sugar, milk, egg and mix, then add the butter in pieces and a pinch of salt, lemon zest, knead well, sprinkle with a bit of flour if needed.

  • Make a ball and let it rest in a bowl covered with plastic wrap for about 3 hours, you can always use the robot for the dough.

  • After the time has passed, divide the dough into 10 pieces, make balls and close them underneath, place them on the oven tray covered with paper and let rest for 20 minutes.

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F, bake and cook the brioche for about 15 minutes.
