STARS with BACON and PROVOLONE

STARS with BACON and PROVOLONE, Christmas appetizer with puff pastry to make in 5 minutes, a tasty, elegant, and incredibly simple idea with few ingredients.

The STARS with bacon and provolone are the Christmas appetizer you make in a flash, perfect when you want something delicious and show-stopping without spending hours at the stove. I make them whenever I have leftover puff pastry scraps: a star-shaped cookie cutter, two ingredients… and boom, in 5 minutes you have an elegant appetizer that disappears from the tray in record time.

They are crunchy, cheesy, fragrant, and super versatile: you can change them endlessly, but the bacon + provolone combo is my favorite, the one that feels like Christmas just by smell. And let’s face it: anything cut into a star shape becomes automatically irresistible, perfect for buffets, dinners, mixed platters, or last-minute appetizers. Even for surprise guests… and it always happens!

Useful tips
Use well-chilled puff pastry, it cuts better and holds its shape.
Provolone is better if not too moist: it melts perfectly without oozing.
Brush with a bit of milk or egg yolk for a more golden effect.
Add seeds (poppy, sesame, chia) for an extra crunchy touch.
They can be prepared in advance and baked at the last minute.
