- Cost: Very cheap
- Preparation time: 15 Minutes
- Portions: 5
- Cooking methods: Oven
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: All seasons
Ingredients
- 1 puff pastry
- 3.5 oz cream cheese (Philadelphia)
- 1.75 oz smoked salmon
Steps
Remove the puff pastry from the fridge 10 minutes before using it then place it on the work surface and cut it out with a 2-inch cutter, with the round puff pastry you will get 5 vol au vent.
Each vol au vent is composed of 3 puff pastry circles, the first is whole and the other 2 have a hole in the center of about 1 inch.
Place the whole circle on the oven tray lined with paper, brush with a little water and place the first circle with the hole, brush the second circle and bake in a preheated oven at 400°F for about 15 minutes.
Remove from the oven and let cool, set aside.
Put the Philadelphia in a bowl, add salt and pepper to taste then cut the salmon into pieces and add it to the cheese, mix well.
Fill the vol au vent with the filling, sprinkle with chopped parsley and place in the fridge until ready to serve.
In any case, you can use ready-made empty vol au vent as I did in this case.
Bon appétit
