- Difficulty: Very easy
- Cost: Very inexpensive
- Preparation time: 10 Minutes
- Portions: 6 Pieces
- Cooking methods: Oven, Air frying
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: New Year's Eve, Christmas
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup flour (the one you usually use)
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 cup walnuts
- 5 dried figs
- 1 pinch ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch nutmeg
- 1 egg
Steps
Be careful with the air fryer, if the basket is not centered, you risk the batter sliding to one side of the cake pan (it happened to me).
Chop the walnuts with a knife into small pieces and cut the figs into pieces.
Pour the flour into a bowl, add the sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Add the walnuts, figs, egg, and mix; if needed, add a few tablespoons of water or milk, mix well and pour the mixture into a 7-inch baking pan.
Bake at 320°F for 20-25 minutes or in an air fryer at 311°F for 15 minutes.
The cake remains very low because it’s very caloric, but if you prefer, you can triple the dose for an 8-inch pan.
Dust with powdered sugar.
Bon appétit
