They are adorable! I had never made them before, this afternoon my daughter and I had fun preparing the witch’s fingers, a perfect pastime given the sudden drop in temperatures, this morning wearing short sleeves, this evening with a fleece jacket.
The witch’s fingers are a classic Halloween sweet, they are simple and quick to make, moreover this shortcrust pastry is really excellent, needless to say most of the cookies have almost disappeared! I had fun placing these fingers on the apple.

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 9 tbsps butter
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 packet vanillin
- milk (if needed)
- blanched almonds
Steps
Pour the flour into a fountain shape on a work surface, make a hole in the center and add the softened butter cut into pieces, the egg yolk, sugar, and vanillin, knead well and if needed, add a little milk.
Form a dough ball, it should be firm and not sticky.
Preheat the oven to 350°F
Break off pieces of dough, make cylinders about 4 inches long or as preferred, place an almond at one end and make small cuts on the fingers with a smooth-edged knife.
Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for about 15-20 minutes, until golden.
WITH THE BIMBY: pour the ingredients into the bowl, speed 5 for about 30 seconds, if needed pour milk through the hole.
