- Cooking methods: Frying
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 3/4 tsp fresh yeast
- 2/3 cups water
- 1 pinch salt
- 1/4 cups honey
- colored sprinkles
- vegetable oil
Steps
Dissolve the yeast in the water, then add the flour and salt, knead with an oiled spoon.
The dough is sticky and mushy.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and a kitchen cloth, and let it rise for about an hour.
After the time has passed, put the oil in a pot with high edges or a pan, bring it to temperature.
To check if the oil is ready for frying, just put a small piece of dough in the pot; when it sizzles, it is ready.
Then pour the mixture by spoonfuls.
Let the fritters puff up and brown well, transferring them little by little to a plate with kitchen paper to absorb the oil.
Melt the honey in a small pot on the stove and pour it over the fritters, add the colored sprinkles and anise seeds if you like.
Bon appétit

Castellammare di Stabia overlooks the sea, it is also known for its “miraculous” fountains from which water could be taken. When I was little, we often went to get the‘water of the Madonna, the water of Castellammare, it was said to be miraculous, healing.
Very good are the taralli of Castellammare and the cigars, long very fragrant cookies that I love, but it has been years since I went, the last time a storm was coming and we couldn’t go down for a walk.
