I still remember as a child the sweet anticipation of Christmas that began on December 1st (not November!!!) with the traditional advent calendar: each day marked by a little window hiding sweets or small gifts to be opened day after day until Christmas Eve. To reconnect with that ritual and immerse myself in the classic Christmas tradition I had to become a child again, so I decided to make a homemade Advent Calendar. What I prepared is made with many spiced little cookies decorated with sugar icing that you can number using food coloring. Alternatively, if you are good at drawing you can decorate them with classic Christmas icons like snowflakes, little Christmas trees, angels, reindeer, etc... Or simply cover the cookies with colored fondant and lots of sprinkles for a touch of color. Have fun personalizing your advent cookies with the shapes and colors you prefer and ask for help. Children will love preparing, decorating and especially eating these cookies."}
