Ze worden gemaakt van zanddeeg; ik heb bakpoeder gebruikt omdat ik geen ammoniak lekker vind, maar als je een minder zachte consistentie wilt is het beter om ammoniak of wijnsteenzuur (cremor tartaro) te gebruiken. De glazuur is gemaakt van poedersuiker en citroensap; je kunt er eventueel ook limoncello aan toevoegen. Snoepjes en gekleurde suikerparels maken de taralli niet alleen lekker, maar ook mooi om te zien.</description></oembed>
