Apples cooked with grape scrucchiata in an air fryer, an easy and quick recipe designed for a light yet energy-packed snack.
And if you don’t have an air fryer, you can easily use the oven.
To fill them, as a good Abruzzese, I used homemade grape scrucchiata gifted by a dear friend.
But what is scrucchiata?
Scrucchiata, not to be confused with smoother grape jam, is made exclusively with well-ripened Montepulciano grapes, through the process of scrucchiatura, which involves manually separating the skin and pulp, with all the seeds. It has a rustic appearance and no sugar is used in its preparation.
What can you substitute if you can’t find it?
With jams or preserves of your choice, preferably sugar-free.
Below, I leave you the recipe for my traditionally cooked apples and other apple recipes.
